This course provides candidates with a framework with which to analyze investment and financing decisions, and to understand how financial decisions affect firm value. Topics covered include time value of money, project evaluation techniques, cost of capital, cash flow estimation, project risk analysis, company valuation, dividend policy, and capital structure decisions. We explore the layout of the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement. We will demonstrate how to prepare financial statements from scratch. Overall, the course provides the candidates with a fundamental understanding of financial concepts and tools that are essential for making informed (business) decisions.
